SMITEC’s SWM is a modular, Industry 4.0 packaging line software suite built atop the Iotellect SCADA/HMI platform. Designed for packaging and other discrete-manufacturing lines, the suite delivers live monitoring, data collection, real-time production tracking, and OEE-grade KPI analytics—all in one easily deployed package. Dozens of plants have already installed SWM, using its dashboards to nudge throughput higher and downtime lower. Control-room operators watch processes unfold in real time; technicians drill into machine states for pre-emptive fixes; finance and executive teams tap the same data trove to weigh costs against performance and chart the next round of gains, with insights that support OEE monitoring and better operational visibility.
Hardware and Environment
A packaging line strings together machines, sensors and control units that transform raw inputs into finished, boxed goods. Each station is typically steered by a PLC or PAC able to feed operational data to outside systems. That data highway—now most often Ethernet running MODBUS/TCP or OPC, underpins SWM’s continuous oversight and insight engine, turning routine signals into actionable intelligence for industrial automation software environments.
